Your Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative providing the best service to our most important assets - our members.
Credit unions are not new, they originated in Europe during hard economic times. The first credit union in this country was formed in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1909. Today more than 10,000 serve over 79 million people in the United States. More people join credit unions every year and according to customer surveys (American Banker Newspaper) rank No. 1 for customer satisfaction among financial institutions.
Organized to serve their members, democratically controlled credit unions provide their members with a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates. Members pool their funds to make loans to one another. A volunteer board which is elected by the members runs each credit union. Not for profit, not for charity, but for service is a credit union motto.
